Ease into the session
Check that the area is clear. Begin with easy movement and a simple version of today’s task. Take pauses as needed; the clock includes them.
Simpler option: Start by walking through the task. Reduce effort or stop if something does not feel right. - 20 min
Rally consistency
Agree on a generous target with your partner. Rally cooperatively at a comfortable pace, counting how many balls you keep in play. Pause and restart when the rhythm goes. Take turns choosing a target.
Simpler option: Use a bigger target, a shorter distance or an extra bounce. A slower ball may make the task more manageable. - 20 min
Change one thing
Change one part of the rally: distance, target or starting feed. Keep the rest familiar. Return to the first task if you cannot sustain the exchange.
Simpler option: Repeat the first task instead of adding a variation. - 10 min
Finish and make a note
Wind down, collect equipment safely and note the setup, one observation and what you would repeat or change next time. This block includes rests and the end-of-session review.
Simpler option: Write one sentence. You do not need a score to record something useful.
